ReBuilder Therapy

ReBuilder Therapy at Wellness Chiropractic Center

If you suffer from peripheral neuropathy or a related nerve disorder, you may be all too aware of the pain, tingling, numbness, and loss of function this kind of problem can cause. While there are a few different options on the market for treating neuropathy, most of them come with their share of undesirable potential side effects and risks? Here at Wellness Chiropractic Center, we're dedicated to providing safe, drug-free, non-surgical treatment methods to relieve nerve symptoms and restore physical function. That's why we're excited to offer state-of-the-art ReBuilder therapy to our Watertown patients.

Neuropathy and Its Treatment

Neuropathy can include any form of nerve dysfunction. Perhaps the most common example is peripheral neuropathy, which affects the nerves of the feet, hands, arms, legs, muscles, and organs. Peripheral neuropathy may develop for a variety of reasons, including:

    • Diabetes
    • Acute or chronic nerve compression
    • Injury-related nerve damage
    • Chemotherapy
    • Alcohol abuse
    • Hypothyroidism
    • Kidney damage

While treating underlying issues such as nerve compression can relieve some cases of neuropathy, others may linger due to damage that caused the nerve to stop sending signals correctly. Tingling, pain, numbness, and balance problems may grow steadily worse.

Traditional treatments for neuropathy have included drugs and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation). Unfortunately, neither of these treatment methods is completely satisfactory. The drugs commonly prescribed to ease nerve pain can leave patients with uncomfortable (and potentially unsafe) loss of sensation. TENS units, which send electrical signals to the nerves, can operate at such a high power level that they create an "overload" that actually does permanent damage and makes your situation even worse.

Drug-Free Relief from Our Watertown Chiropractor

The ReBuilder used by our Watertown chiropractor represents a breakthrough in effective, precise, non-pharmaceutical neuropathy treatment. Like a TENS unit, the ReBuilder transmits electrical signals to the nerves through electrodes, but it does so in a much gentler, more controlled manner, sensing and providing the right degree of stimulation to re-activate dormant nerves.

A typical ReBuilder treatment session takes only 30 minutes and causes no pain, just a "buzzing" sensation. Over time, repeated ReBuilder sessions can dramatically reduce your neuropathy symptoms with none of the worrying side effects of other neuropathy treatment techniques. We can use ReBuilder therapy as a helpful complement to treatments such as chiropractic adjustment and spinal decompression, both of which can release trapped nerve tissue.
